Life

Albrecht zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg was a member of the noble family of the Prince Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg . His parents were Albrecht zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (1777-1851) and his wife Christiane Charlotte Wilhelmine Countess zu Ortenburg (1802-1854). Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, who was a Protestant denomination, died childless. Therefore, his nephew Richard followed him as a gentleman.

After the death of his father, he became the eldest son in 1851. Associated with this were a number of privileges, including a virile vote at the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Westphalia . Accordingly, he was a member of the Provincial Parliament from 1851 to 1871. As a registrar he was allowed to be represented there. So he was represented on the provincial parliament in 1868 by his brother Gustav zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and in 1865 and 1871 by his brother Carl zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg . As a registrar he was also a member of the Prussian manor house . But he never actually entered there.
