Alcide Hyacinthe du Bois de Beauchesne
Alcide Hyacinthe du Bois de Beauchesne (born March 31, 1804 in Lorient , France , † November 29, 1873 in Varennes-sur-Allier , France) was a French writer.
Beauchesne studied at Noyon and Douai, was appointed head of the cabinet of the Department of Fine Arts in 1825 and, two years later, royal chamberlain. In this dual position, he maintained close contact with important writers and artists of his time. He researched the literature of the Middle Ages, undertook a long trip to Germany for the purpose of these studies and, on his return, was appointed head of section at the National Archives (1853). In 1865 he was made an officer of the Legion of Honor .
