Aleem Nasir

Aleem Nasir (born March 15, 1962 in Lahore , Pakistan ) is a German terrorist and member of Al-Qaeda .

biography

Nasir studied mechanical engineering in Pakistan in the 1980s. In 1987 he came to Germany and lived in Freiburg , Waldkirch and Germersheim . After marrying a German student, he applied for German citizenship, which he received in 1992. After the attacks of September 11, 2001 , Nasir vigorously defended the act of terrorism at his former workplace in the Karlsruhe nuclear research center and thus came into the focus of the German police for the first time. In 2007, he was arrested in Pakistan by the ISI secret police on suspicion of being a member of Al Qaeda. A few weeks later he was deported to Germany. In 2008 he was arrested in his place of residence in Germersheim and charged as a terrorist before the Higher Regional Court in Koblenz that same year. In 2009 he was sentenced to eight years in prison, including for recruiting Bekkay Harrach . He himself described this judgment as "nonsense". The Federal Court of Justice upheld the judgment in November 2010.
