Alejandro César Alonso (born March 3, 1982 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine football player . The midfielder has been without a club since summer 2013.

Career

Alonso's professional career began in 2001 in his home country at CA Huracan . Before that, he had already played through the club's youth teams. There he played four seasons before he ventured abroad in the summer of 2005 and joined the French first division club Girondins Bordeaux . The small, dribbling player can be used on the right as well as on the left wing.

In his first year Bordeaux reached the runner-up title and in the following season he won the League Cup with the Blues . In 2007/08 he finished second with the team for the second time. In European Cup competitions he scored one goal in eight games for Bordeaux. After three years in the port city, Alonso moved to AS Monaco in the summer of 2008 , with whom he reached the 2010 cup final against Paris Saint-Germain , which however was lost 1-0 after extra time.
