Alejandro Santo Domingo Davila (born February 13, 1977 in New York City ) is a US- Colombian entrepreneur . With $ 8.59 billion in assets, he is considered the richest Colombian in 2020.

Life

origin

He is the second son from Julio Mario Santo Domingo's second marriage to the Colombian Beatriz Davila. He attended the Hotchkiss School in the United States and received a bachelor's degree in history from Harvard University . He manages the assets of the Santo Domingo family with the Colombian Valorem group as president.

He is managing director of Quadrant Capital Advisors Inc. in New York City, member of the board of directors of Anheuser-Busch InBev , chairman of Bavaria SA , board member of Backus & Johnston SAA in Peru, director of Caracol Televisión and the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo .

Career

He has been running the Valorem family business since his father's death in 2011 and is also on the board of the Metropolitan Museum of Art . The Santo Domingo clan owns massive stakes in beer giant AB InBev , Chile's Bank Itaú CorpBanca , Brazil's BTG Pactual and Spain's real estate company Colonial, as well as several hundred other companies in Colombia, such as B. Caracol TV , El Espectador . According to the US portal Bloomberg , he was one of the richest Colombians in 2017 with $ 15.6 billion.

Private life

In July 2015 he was engaged to Charlotte Anne Wellesley (born October 8, 1990), daughter of Charles Wellesley, 9th Duke of Wellington and Princess Antonia, Duchess of Wellington and great-great-granddaughter of the late German Emperor Wilhelm II . They were married on May 28, 2016 in Íllora , near Granada in Spain.
