Aleksander Kalvet , native Aleksander Gerassimov (born January 29 . Jul / 11. February  1904 greg. In Tallinn , Governorate of Estonia ; † 13. March 1970 in Tallinn , Estonian SSR ) was an Estonian football - and Bandyspieler and Field Athlete of Russian origin. In 1936 he established his family name.

Life

Aleksander Kalvet started playing football in 1922. From 1925 he played for the team of SK Tallinna Sport for three years . With the club he was Estonian champions in 1925 and 1927 and was top scorer in both seasons . After a year break, Kalvet played from 1929 for JK Tallinna Kalev , with whom he celebrated another championship in 1930 .

In 1930 Kalvet played once for the Estonian national football team . On July 18, 1930 he scored the consolation goal for the Estonians in a 5-1 defeat in Tallinn against Sweden . It was the only use in the national jersey.

The versatile athlete Kalvet was also successful with the bandy teams of the two football clubs and was two Estonian champions in this sport in 1924 and 1933. As a track and field athlete, he set a personal record of 11.8 seconds in the 100-meter run .

After the end of his sporting career, he worked as a delivery person at Eesti Post .
