Aleksandr Kan
Aleksandr Kan SJ (born May 7, 1963 in Karaganda , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh religious and former Apostolic Superior of the Roman Catholic Church in Kyrgyzstan .
Life
Aleksandr Kan joined the religious community of the Society of Jesus and was ordained a priest on May 29, 1988 . Pope John Paul II appointed him superior to the Mission sui juris in Kyrgyzstan on December 22, 1997 . With the establishment of the Apostolic Administration of Kyrgyzstan by Pope Benedict XVI. and appointment of the Apostolic Administrator Nikolaus Messmer SJ, he resigned from office as superior.
