Alessandro Pistone (born July 27, 1975 in Milan ) is a former Italian football player .

Career

Pistone started his professional football career with Solbiatese and Crevalcore in the lower Italian leagues. In 1995 he moved to his first professional club, Vicenza Calcio . From 1996 to 1997 he played at Inter Milan , where he made 45 appearances. In 1997 the Italian moved to Newcastle United for £ 4.3m . There, among other things, an FA Cup final played against Arsenal that was lost. In 2000 the full-back moved to Everton FC . Pistone initially had problems at Everton with multiple knee injuries . Pistone made 149 appearances in the Premier League, scoring two goals. Internationally, he played eleven times for the Italian U-21 team and scored two goals. He took part in the 1996 Olympic Games for Italy . Italy were eliminated in the preliminary round and Pistone was used twice.
