Aleuron is a genus of butterflies from the family of swarmers (Sphingidae).

species

The antennae of the moth are very long and reach more than half the length of the front edge of the forewing. They are slightly shorter in females than in males and have a slightly curved hook at the tip. The labial palps are large and angled. The compound eyes are small and ciliate. The spurs on the abdominal segments are weak and multi-row. They are partially modified into scales. The splints ( tibia ) are not thorny.

Occurrence and way of life

The genus is neotropically distributed from Mexico to the south of Brazil and the north of Argentina.
