Aleutian low

The Aleutian Low is a low pressure area , a center of action , which, especially in winter, on the territory of the Aleutian Islands has outsourced and therefore a great importance for the North Pacific. In El Niño years this is particularly pronounced and shifts further south. The winter rains in California are more intense, which often leads to flooding west of the Rocky Mountains . The Aleutian Depression is one of four reference points in the Pacific North American Pattern . The Icelandic Depression is the Atlantic equivalent of the Aleutian Depression.
