The Alevi Congregation Germany ( Turkish : Almanya Alevi Birlikleri Federasyonu , abbr .: AABF) is the umbrella organization of the Alevi congregations in Germany. The federal chairman is Hüseyin Mat . It represents the organized in their Alevis, which is the second largest religious community after Sunni Islam within the religiously bound Turkish origin form migrants in Germany.

History and meaning

The association was founded in 1989 and launched a new program on March 31, 1998. The Alevi Congregation Germany, a registered association based in Cologne , is organized in state representations and municipalities at city and community level. It includes around 150 local churches in Germany.

The association is a member of the European Union of Alevi Congregations ( Avrupa Alevi Birlikleri Konfederasyonu ; abbreviation AABK). The youth is represented by the Association of Alevi Youth in Germany .

In 2012, the Alevi community in Germany joined the Coalition Umfairteilen on. In August 2013, Federal President Joachim Gauck paid tribute to the commitment of the Alevi community in Berlin.

The AABF provides appointed representatives at the German Islam Conference and the integration summit of the federal government .

aims

The goals include the revival of Alevism , the integration and participation of its members in German society and the provision of their own religious instruction. Alevi religious instruction was first approved in the 2006/2007 school year in Baden-Württemberg ; it is now available in a total of nine federal states.

Publications

Alevilerin Sesi ("Voice of the Alevis") is a monthly AABF magazine . In addition to Turkish texts, German and French contributions are also published. The articles deal with Alevism, the domestic political situation in Turkey and Germany, and Alevi association activities.
