Alex Ebi

Alex Ebi (born October 10, 1964 ) is a Swiss handball player, handball official and politician ( LDP ).

Life

Ebi played as an active handball player at the clubs RTV 1879 Basel , TSV St. Otmar St. Gallen and BSV Borba Luzern . In the seasons 1983/1984 and 1985/1986 he was Swiss champion in the season 1986/1987 top scorer in the National League A . He made 69 appearances for the Swiss national team and scored 179 goals.

Ebi works as a general agent for Helvetia Insurance . He has been president of the handball club RTV 1879 Basel since 2002 .

Ebi has been a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Basel-Stadt since February 4, 2020 .

Ebi is married and has three grown children.
