Nicole Schilling

Nicole Schilling (* 1974 in Rothenburg ob der Tauber ) is a soldier in the Bundeswehr with the rank of general physician . She is the Vice President of the Federal Office for Personnel Management of the Bundeswehr in Cologne .

Military career

Training and first uses

Promotions

Nicole Schilling joined the German Army as a medical officer candidate in 1993 at the Air Force Medical School in Giebelstadt . She completed her training as a medical officer and began studying human medicine at the Medical Faculty of the University of Giessen . From 2000, Schilling was an assistant doctor at the Bundeswehr hospital in Hamm . 2002-2003 she was a troop doctor in the Air Force sanitary unit of air defense missile group 21 in Möhnesee used and completed training as a doctor for general medicine and the promotion of Doctor of Medicine from. From 2003 to 2005 she was the squadron chief of the Air Force First Aid Squadron at the 1st Battalion of Air Force Training Regiment  1 in Budel in the Netherlands .

Service as a staff officer

From 2005 to 2007 Schilling was head of the personnel department in the personnel office of the Bundeswehr in Cologne . Afterwards, between 2007 and 2009, Schilling took part in the 4th general staff training course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg and was trained as an officer in the general staff service . Afterwards, she was employed as the head of principle for the personnel management of the medical officers in the personnel office of the Federal Armed Forces in Cologne, before she was employed as a personnel officer in the PSZ department of the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn in 2010 . In 2012 she moved to Berlin , where she worked as a consultant in the office of State Secretary Stéphane Beemelmans in the Federal Ministry of Defense until the beginning of 2014 . As a result, she took over the management of the newly established secretariat of the attractiveness steering board in the Federal Ministry of Defense, where she implemented the attractiveness agenda of Federal Minister Ursula von der Leyen . From 2015 to 2017, Schilling was chief physician at the Bundeswehr Hospital in Westerstede , before she returned to the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn as Head of Unit P I 4, responsible for recruiting for the Bundeswehr.

Service as a general

In March 2019, Schilling took over the newly created role of Vice President in the Federal Office for Personnel Management of the Bundeswehr . In doing so, she essentially took over the duties of Brigadier General Georg Klein , who took on the role of Managing General, which was no longer applicable as part of the reclassification. In April 2020, Schilling was promoted to general doctor.
