Alex Haffner

Alex Haffner (actually Alexander Haffner ; * August 2, 1883 ; † July 2, 1969 in Stuttgart ) was a German manager and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Alex Haffner graduated from the University of Tübingen with a degree in economics (1908) and one in law (1911), each with a doctorate . From 1914 he worked for the shoe manufacturer Salamander in Kornwestheim , as assistant to the owner Max Levi, from 1924 as general director, most recently until 1955 as chairman of the board.

From 1947 to 1948 he was a member of the Economic Council of the United Economic Area , where he represented the CDU in Württemberg-Baden . In 1949 he was one of the founders of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , on whose board of directors he took over the chairmanship.
