The show is to be designed in the style of a vaudeville . Samson's press spokesman, Ken Douglas, found Jeanie Maxwell, a budding composer and singer from Altoona, Pennsylvania , who was talented in every way, in the tenement he lives in . Attempts to replace the untalented Donna with Jeanie are initially unsuccessful. When Donna is arrested by a sheriff in the country, the premiere seems to have been saved.
