Alex Meier (born February 27, 1951 ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
Meier played eight second division games for VfR Mannheim in the 1974/75 season , with no goal. He made his debut on August 11, 1974 (2nd matchday) in the 1: 2 defeat in the away game against SV Röchling Völklingen with a substitution for Vladimir Savić in the 86th minute. Except on May 31, 1975 (36th matchday), when he played 90 minutes in the 3-0 win in the away game against 1. FC Saarbrücken , he was always used as a substitute in the second half of his other six games. He also played the first round game in the DFB Cup, which he lost 2-0 at 1. FC Kaiserslautern on August 2, 1975 .
