Alexandar Jordanow Alexandrow ( Bulgarian Александър Йорданов Александров ; born January 19, 1975 in Plovdiv ) is a former Bulgarian football player . His nickname is Alex. His position is the offensive midfield . He played a total of 385 games in the Bulgarian A Grupa and the Turkish Süper Lig . In 1999 he was Bulgarian Footballer of the Year . In 2000 he won the Bulgarian championship with Levski Sofia .

Career

Alexandrov started his career in 1985 in the youth team of Maritsa Plovdiv in his hometown of Plovdiv . From 1993 to 1997 he played 87 professional games in Maritsa and scored 33 times. In 1997 Levski Sofia first noticed him and signed him. In four years at Levski he won the cup twice and the championship once. After 79 games and 25 goals for Levski, he moved to Kocaelispor in Turkey for the first time in 2001 . After several positions in Turkey, he returned to Bulgaria in 2007 to join Cherno More Varna . After playing there for two years, with 65 games and 27 goals, he moved back to Levski Sofia in January 2010 after ten years. In summer 2011 he moved to Botew Plovdiv in the B Grupa , where he ended his career in summer 2012.

National team

Alexandrov played ten international matches for the Bulgarian national football team between 1998 and 2003 . He played his first international game on October 10, 1999, when Bulgaria beat Luxembourg 3-0 .

successes

Although Alexandar Alexandrov is not well known outside of Bulgaria, he won several titles in his career. His biggest award so far is the title “Bulgarian Footballer of the Year”, which he received in 1999.
