Alexander Alexandrovich Kuznetsov

Alexander Alexandrowitsch Kuznetsov ( Russian Александр Александрович Кузнецов ; born July 22, 1992 in Sevastopol , Ukraine ) is a Russian film and theater actor . He plays roles in Russian films and on television.

Life

Kuznetsov felt creatively restricted in Sevastopol and moved first to Kiev and then to Moscow to continue his education. In 2015 he graduated from the Russian Academy of Theatrical Arts (GITIS) and was invited to participate in several leading Moscow theaters. He chose the Chekhov Art Theater , where he started as a lead actor that same year.

In the cinema, Kuznetsov is currently known for his roles in The Scythian (Rise of the Scythian) , directed by Rustam Mosafir, and Leto , directed by Kirill Serebrennikow , who was selected for the Palme d'Or at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.

Considered a rapidly rising star in Russian cinema, critics have been largely positive about his performance. For his leading role in Kislota (ACID), directed by Alexander Gorchilin, Kuznetsov received an Angela Prize at the SUBTITLE Spotlight European Film Festival.

In addition to his acting career, Kuznetsov is also the front man of his band “Space Punk Industry”. He is currently working on her first album. Kuznetsov describes his music as a "mixture of Britpop and alternative rock ". In autumn 2018, Kuznetsov was awarded the OK! awarded the “New Names (in the cinema)” prize. In 2019, Kuznetsov was cast in a leading role in Mon Légionnaire . The French actor Louis Garrel also plays in the French feature film, which is directed by Rachel Lang .
