Alexander Billmeyer

Alexander Billmeyer (born January 7, 1841 in Liberty , Montour County , Pennsylvania , †  May 24, 1924 in Washingtonville , Pennsylvania) was an American politician . In 1902 and 1903 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Alexander Billmeyer attended the public schools in his home country and then worked in agriculture and the wood industry. He also worked in the banking industry. He became one of the directors of the National Bank in Washingtonville . Politically, he joined the Democratic Party .

After the death of MP Rufus King Polk , Billmeyer was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the by-election due for the 17th seat of Pennsylvania , where he took up his new mandate on November 4, 1902. Since he was no longer running in the regular congressional elections of 1902 , he was only able to end the current legislative period in Congress until March 3, 1903 .

After his time in the US House of Representatives, Alexander Billmeyer mainly worked in agriculture. He died on May 24, 1924 near Washingtonville.
