Alexander Detig (born November 1, 1966 in Salzgitter , Lower Saxony ) is a German composer , musician , journalist , book author and television producer . He composes soundtracks for TV and film productions. He also shoots and produces investigative TV documentaries on various sociopolitical, historical and cultural topics.

Life

Alexander Detig grew up in Pforzheim . After graduating from the Heinrich Wieland School in Pforzheim in 1987, he learned editing and directing in Frankfurt am Main , Mainz and Wiesbaden . Since 1996 he has been working as a freelance producer and author for various formats, including a. for ZDF , BBC and arte . He has been a journalist since 2005. He mainly deals with topics from the socio-political sector, the environment and culture. Since 2008 he has been working as a composer for TV and film.

The TV documentary Yakuza - Gangsters and Benefactors , for which Detig researched in the Yakuza milieu over several years , arose out of a personal interest in Japan . In 2015, the non-fiction book The Last Yakuza was published , in which the author on the one hand captures certain background information about his experiences, on the other hand creates the impression of a Japan connoisseur without naming the people and circumstances that made it possible for him to work on the film documentation.

Alexander Detig lives with his wife, the journalist and book author Tatyana Detig , in Bad Kreuznach .
