Alexander Djajasiswaja
Alexander Soetandio Djajasiswaja (born November 30, 1931 in Surakarta , † January 19, 2006 in Bandung ) was an Indonesian Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Bandung .
Life
He received on 7 September 1958, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
Pope John Paul II called him on July 2, 1984 Bishop of Bandung, a diocese 170 km southeast of Jakarta . He was ordained bishop on November 11, 1984 by Justinus Cardinal Darmojuwono ; Co- consecrators were Alfred Gonti Pius Datubara OFMCap , Archbishop of Medan , and Alphonsus Augustus Sowada OSC, Bishop of Agats .
Djajasiswaja repeatedly called for a dialogue between denominations and religions in the multi-ethnic and multi-religious state. He died on January 19, 2006 after falling into a coma.
