Alexander Engel ( Russian Александр Энгель ; born April 25, 1962 in Ust-Kamenogorsk , Kazakh SSR ) is a former German - Kazakh ice hockey player .

Career

Engel began his career in the 1984/85 season in the second highest Soviet league at Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk , for which he was active in sports for a total of seven years before moving to Germany . In the 1991/92 season he played for EC Ratingen in the 2nd Bundesliga and was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga in the same season. To found the German Ice Hockey League for the 1994/95 season , he then moved to the Kassel Huskies .

He was the first national player for Kassel and was also active in the 1994 Deutschland Cup . He celebrated his greatest success with the Huskies in 1997, when he and the Huskies celebrated the runner-up for the first time, until he moved to the then GEC Nordhorn in the second-class 1st League North in the following season . After two years he then moved to the Hamburg Crocodiles until he ended his career in the 2nd division at EC Wilhelmshaven-Stickhausen in 2001 .

His son of the same name is active in sports with the Lausitzer Füchsen for the 2008/09 season .
