Aleksandre Iaschwili ( Georgian ალექსანდრე იაშვილი ; born October 23, 1977 in Tbilisi ) is a former Georgian football player and current official.
Career
societies
Iaschwili played for the Georgian top club Dinamo Tiflis and moved in January 1997 on loan to the German second division club VfB Lübeck . In the summer of the same year he returned to his hometown club.
In October 1997 Iaschwili was signed by SC Freiburg . With the Badeners he rose in the following year under coach Volker Finke in the Bundesliga . The offensive player quickly played his way into the team and scored 29 goals for the South Baden team in a total of six Bundesliga years and 147 games. He was Freiburg's top scorer in the upper house of football for a long time before he was overtaken by Papiss Cissé in 2011 . In the 2005/06 season Iaschwili was elected team captain, in the following season he acted as deputy captain Soumaila Coulibaly .
Iaschwili moved to the former first division club Karlsruher SC for the 2007/08 season on a free transfer . He received a contract until 2010. On March 1, 2008, he scored his first competitive goal for Karlsruhe in a 3-1 home win in the Bundesliga against VfL Wolfsburg . The following season he scored three more times in the league; at the end of the season, the KSC was relegated to the second division. After the North Baden residents were relegated in 2009, his contract was extended to 2013. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season Iashvili was appointed the new team captain. As a result, he was an undisputed regular player and regularly contributed goals, even if he was more characterized by his dribbling and ball control than by his final strength. In the summer of 2012, Iaschwili lost with Karlsruhe the relegation against SSV Jahn Regensburg and was relegated to the 3rd division . After the descent of KSC, he signed for the 2012/13 season with the second division club VfL Bochum.
For the 2013/14 season Iaschwili moved to İnter Baku . After a break of half a year, he played from January 2015 at the newly promoted Georgian FC Samtredia and from the beginning of the 2015/2016 season again at Dinamo Tbilisi. In the summer of 2016, Iashvili ended his career at the age of 38.
National team
Since 1998 Iashvili played for the Georgian national soccer team . When he made his debut, he was 19 years old, making him the Georgians' second youngest debutant. He made a total of 68 senior internationals and scored 15 goals.
In 2004 and 2008 he was voted Georgian Footballer of the Year .

Since June 2016, Iashvili has been Vice President of the Georgian Football Association and thus head of the national team.
