After a year break, he started his most successful tour at the Four Hills Tournament 1975/76 . In his last two tours, the Four Hills Tournament 1976/77 and the Four Hills Tournament 1977/78 , he could no longer build on the success and only reached the overall ranks 37 and 38 before he ended his active ski jumping career in 1978.
