Alexander Jurjewitsch Sharapow ( Russian Александр Юрьевич Шарапов ; born March 6, 1994 in Moscow ) is a Russian cyclist.

Athletic career

Alexander Sharapov has been internationally active in track cycling since 2011 . In 2011 he won a bronze medal in the team sprint at the Junior European Championships and at the Junior World Championships. In 2012 he became Junior World Champion in the same discipline together with Alexander Dubschenko and Wladislaw Fedin . He also won the silver medal in the team sprint together with Alexander Dubschenko and Alexei Lysenko at the Junior European Championships. At the U23 European Championships in 2014 he was third with Dubschenko and Nikita Shurshin .

In 2017 (with Shane Perkins and Nikita Schurschin) and 2018 (with Denis Dmitrijew and Shane Perkins) he was the Russian champion in the team sprint of the elite, and in 2018 he was also the Russian champion in the sprint. At the UCI Track World Championships in 2019 he won bronze in the team sprint with Denis Dmitrijew and Pawel Jakuschewski .
