Alexander Kolb (Lieutenant General)

Alexander Kolb (born May 12, 1891 in Mainz , † April 4, 1963 in Darmstadt ) was a German officer , most recently Lieutenant General in the Air Force in World War II .

Life

In 1909 Kolb joined the foot artillery regiment "General Feldzeugmeister" No. 3 of the Prussian Army as a flag junior . After a brief assignment as adjutant to the general of the foot artillery of the fortress Mainz , he became a battery leader in the foot artillery regiment "General Feldzeugmeister" No. 3 in 1915. In 1918 he became the commander of the foot artillery battalion No. 32 . At the end of the First World War , it was used in the police service from 1920. Among other things, he was commander of the state police in the Worms department.

In 1935 he switched to the Air Force. In 1937 he became commander of Flak Regiment 13, in 1938 commander of Air Defense Command 2 in Stettin. In 1939 Kolb took over the Air Defense Command 6 in Hanover and became anti-aircraft artillery commander at Luftgau XI . In 1941 he became the commander of Air Defense Command 8 , from 1942 an officer z. b. V. of the Reich Aviation Ministry from July 1, 1941 to May 31, 1943. On May 31, 1943 he was retired.
