Science and Research

Humanities

Krylov's main research interests are psychoanalytic anthropology , social and personal identity, and social change. According to Krylov, classical psychoanalysis evolved from a form of psychotherapy to philosophy. The ideas of Freud and his successors became more and more a topic of discussion about the philosophical understanding of being human. In the monograph “Evolution of Identities” (2010) he showed that the way people see themselves is influenced by social change. Modern man tries his way through not only traditional, but increasingly also through new identities such as virtual identity, consumer identity, lifestyle identity, celebrity identity and the like. a. define. In the post-industrial society, identity finding is associated with personal psychological problems and crises. In search of basic anthropological identity contents, Krylov dealt with religion. In his monograph “Religious Identity” (2012) he treated the subject from different perspectives. On the one hand, he still sees Christianity as an important cultural foundation for the self-confidence of people in Europe and in many countries around the world. On the other hand, in modern Krylov society, religious identity does not only emerge against the background of Christian belief. After consciously renouncing religion at all, modern people unconsciously retain and use various elements of religious behavior in order to fill the existential vacuum that has arisen. When searching for God, people ask themselves from the beginning: "Who am I?", "Where do I come from?" and "Where am I going?"

Economics

In economics, Krylov dealt with questions of business ethics , corporate social responsibility, intercultural management and corporate communication. He was in Germany through several publications, u. a. known from the edited volumes he edited. He has always been able to win renowned German and international scientists as teams of authors for his innovative concepts. With research in corporate communications (since 1998), Krylov is one of the pioneers in public relations in Russia. As the first Russian-speaking scientist, he dealt with corporate identities and published the first Russian-language book on this subject in 2004, based on identity analyzes of several German branded companies. For Krylov, the development of public relations is inextricably linked with the development of democracy and freedom of the press . He has systematized the management concepts he has dealt with in various years (including corporate governance, corporate reputation and sustainability) under the heading of “social awareness-raising of economic activity”. From his point of view, companies do not act of their own accord in a social and ethical manner, but are repeatedly asked to do so by society. This underlines the role of civil society as well as a humanistic or Christian image of man and also helps to optimize business processes and make them more sustainable.
