Alexander Alexandrovich Meyerov

Alexander Alexandrovich Mejerow ( Russian Александр Александрович Мееров * April 22 . Jul / 5. May  1915 greg. In Kharkiv , † 4. September 1975 in Mariupol , Ukrainian SSR ) was a Russian science fiction -author of the Soviet era .

Alexander Mejerow was a chemical engineer by profession. In 1937 he was arrested during the Stalinist repression in the 1930s and spent ten years in custody and in a so-called " Sharashka " (a special camp for scientists). After the Second World War, he first lived in Leningrad , was involved in the construction of the first Sputniks and then lived in Mariupol.

In addition to a few essays and short stories, he published three science fiction novels that have seen translations into more than a dozen languages.
