Alexander Michailowitsch Scholochow ( Russian Александр Михайлович Шолохов , born January 26, 1962 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian politician and biologist . He is a member of the 7th State Duma , director of the National Sholokhov Museum from 2001–2016, and a candidate for biological sciences .

He is a grandson of the writer Michail Alexandrowitsch Scholochow and son of Michail Michailowitsch Scholochow.

Alexander Michailowitsch Scholokhov was born on January 25, 1962 in Moscow . He graduated from the Faculty of Biology and Soil at Rostov State University (now the Southern Federal University ) in 1984 and later worked there as a lecturer .

He also studied at the Graduate School of Moscow State University . Biological Sciences Candidate (1989).

Since 1989 he has been an employee of the National Sholokhov Museum in Vyoschenskaya Stanitsa . In 1999 he graduated from the Rostov State Economic University with a focus on law . In 2001-2016 he was director of the National Scholokhov Museum.

In 2003-2008 he was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Rostov Oblast .

In 2014 he became a member of the Presidium of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Culture and the Arts. In 2016 he was elected President of the Russian Committee of the International Union of Museums.

On September 18, 2016, he was elected a deputy of the 7th State Duma . He is a member of the United Russia party and deputy chairman of the State Duma cultural committee.

He was awarded the Order of Honor .
