Alexander Moissejewitsch Volodin ( Russian Александр Моисеевич Володин ., Scientific transliteration Aleksandr Moiseevic Volodin , real surname Lifschitz , Russian Лифшиц * 10. February 1919 in Minsk ; † 17th December 2001 in Saint Petersburg ) was a Russian writer , playwright and screenwriter .

Life

Before he started his writing career, Volodin was a primary school teacher. After the end of the Second World War he attended the film school, graduated in 1949 and became a dramaturge at the Leningrad film studio .

His first stories from 1954 dealt with the everyday worries of the Soviet population.

His play " Fabritschnaja dewotschka " (The Factory Girl) from 1956 was hotly debated. In this play a young girl takes on the fight against routine and bigotry.

In other pieces too, such as “ Pyat Vecherov ” (Five Evenings), which was published in 1959, Volodin tries authentically and in great detail behind the apparently everyday actions and characters of simple Soviet people, their inner greatness, their moral seriousness and their great responsibility towards them To make life visible.

He wrote numerous scripts, but directed only one film (Proisschestwije,…, 1967) himself.
