Alexander Neubacher

Alexander Neubacher (* 1968 in Krefeld ) is a German journalist .

Life

After studying economics at the University of Cologne , Neubacher graduated from the Cologne School of Journalism . He was the editor of “ Wochenpost ” and “ Bizz Capital ” and has been working as a business editor in the Spiegel office in Berlin since 1999 .

He was awarded the BVKJ Media Prize 2011 for his Spiegel report “The fairy tale of the poor child” (issue 39/2010) . In 2009 he received the Helmut Schmidt Journalist Prize for his criticism of the health reform in Germany .

As the successor to Jan Fleischhauer , he has been writing a column in the Spiegel magazine, alternating with Markus Feldenkirchen, since 2019 .
