Alexander Neumann (painter)

Alexander Neumann (* 1831 in Odessa , Russian Empire ; † after 1868) was a Russian portrait , genre and landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Neumann studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1850 to 1852 . There was Theodor Hildebrandt his teacher. From 1850 to 1852 Neumann was a member of the Malkasten artists' association . From 1852 to 1857 he lived in Hamburg , from 1860 in Berlin . He traveled to Hungary and lived in Ofen for some time .
