career

After completing his musical training in his hometown, Malinin first worked with the Russian State Folk Choir from the Urals and then with the Moscow Philharmonic, before joining various bands . Malinin soon realized that he could do more, but found it difficult to break out of his familiar surroundings and give his life a new direction. This first required a special event. After Malinin got into a traffic accident in 1986 and was in plaster of paris for three months, he had enough time to think and came to the decision to work as a solo artist in the future.

His successful participation in the annual Jūrmala music competition in 1988 helped him implement this project. In the same year he released his first single, Far Away Lands, in collaboration with David Pomeranz .

In 1994, Malinin won the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo , Monaco , as the Russian singer with the highest sales in his home country. Three years later he was recognized as the most successful people's artist in Russia.
