Alexander Nikolajewitsch Sabelin ( Russian Александр Николаевич Забелин ; born December 6, 1931 in Kaliningrad Oblast , Russian SFSR ) is a former Soviet sports shooter .
successes
Alexander Sabelin took part in the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome and 1964 in Tokyo with the rapid-fire pistol. In 1960 he finished the competition as well as William McMillan and Pentti Linnosvuo with 587 points in first place. In the subsequent jump-off, Sabelin scored 135 points, while Linnosvuo got 139 points and McMillan even 148 points, so that he ultimately won the bronze medal. Four years later he did not get beyond 16th place with 584 points. With the team Sabelin 1958 in Moscow , in 1962 in Cairo and 1966 in Wiesbaden world champion . In 1962 he also won the individual title after winning the silver medal in 1958.
