Alexander Nikolajewitsch Wassiljew ( Russian Алекса́ндр Никола́евич Васи́льев ; born March 30, 1982 in Pskow ) is a Russian politician and functionary, head of the supraregional social development movement of the transport system "Pothole Roads". He is the State Duma deputy of the 6th and 7th convocation from December 4, 2011 to date. On June 12, 2013, he joined the Central Staff of the All-Russian Popular Front . On December 21, 2016 he was a member of the Development Committee in the Basic Direction of Strategic Development of the Russian Federation “Safe and Quality Roads” at the Presidium of the President of the Russian Federation in strategic development and priority projects.

In 1999 Vasilyev was admitted to the Pskov State Polytechnic University in the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Since 2003 he started to work in the scientific department of the institute. After completing his studies, he worked there as a senior engineer until the end of 2011. In 2008 he founded the network community “Pothole Roads” in order to take public control over the road quality. In 2011 he was elected to the 6th convocation of the State Duma. He is a State Duma committee member on transport.

In 2008 he founded the network community "Pothole Roads" with the aim of introducing public control over repair and road maintenance. On August 25, 2011, the Vladivostok-Kaliningrad car rally, organized by the Pskov Pothole Roads movement, began. In 2015 he headed the inspection “Let's evaluate the quality of the streets” organized by the “Pothole Roads” movement and the All-Russian Popular Front. As part of the project, more than 1000 roads with the guarantee were tested in 130 cities in 82 regions of the Russian Federation in more than five months.

In February 2017, the project “Road Inspection ONF / Map of Pothole Roads” was started. The aim of this project is the participation of the citizens in the shaping of the road transport policy in the regions and the improvement of the road quality.

Political commitment

As the leading figure of the organization, Vasilyev became a member of the All-Russian Popular Front in 2011 and was included in the lists of candidates for deputies of the State Duma of the 6th convocation of the “ United Russia ” party . On December 4, 2011, according to the ONF quota in the party lists of the party "United Russia", he was elected deputy of the State Duma of the 6th convocation.

In 2016 he was elected a State Duma deputy of the 7th convocation.
