Alexander Osipovitch

Alexander Osipovitch (born May 13, 1982 in Minsk ) is a Belarusian basketball coach and former player.

Life

Osipovitch played basketball in his hometown of Minsk and then from 2001 to 2004 at Western Carolina University in the United States . The 2.06-meter-tall winger achieved his best statistical values ​​during this time in the 2002/03 season, when he scored an average of 6.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per encounter. After returning home, Osipovitch ran in the first Belarusian league for BK Minsk, Vitalyur-Rguor Minsk and OZAA Osipovichi.

In 2009 he went to TSVE Bielefeld in the German regional league. He switched to coaching in Bielefeld (sometimes working as a player-coach) and led the men's team in the 2015/16 season for promotion to the 1st regional league. At the end of October 2016 there was a separation, but the Belarusian initially remained active in Bielefeld youth work. On July 1, 2017, he took up the position of youth coordinator at FC Schalke 04 , and he also became Raphael Wilder's co-trainer for the professional team of the "Knappen" in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . After Schalke split from Wilder in December 2019, Osipovitch was promoted to head coach.
