Alexander Schimpf

Alexander Schimpf (born August 28, 1981 in Göttingen ) is a German pianist .

Life

Schimpf completed his studies with Wolfgang Manz, Winfried Apel and Bernd Glemser and received further suggestions from Cécile Ousset and Janina Fialkowska .

Concert appearances have taken him to numerous German cities (including Gasteig Munich, Konzerthaus Berlin , NDR Hanover, Beethovenhaus Bonn, Music and Congress Hall Lübeck, Philharmonie Cologne) as well as to festivals such as Oberstdorfer Musiksommer, Heidelberger Frühling and Ludwigsburg Castle Festival . This was followed by invitations to France (Auditorium du Louvre and Salle Cortot in Paris), Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, England, Russia, Spain, the USA and several times to South America. His debut concert at New York's Carnegie Hall took place in December 2011.

Schimpf has been Professor of Piano at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media since 2016.

Awards

Recordings and publications

The first solo CD by Alexander Schimpf with piano works by Mozart , Beethoven , Albéniz, Debussy and Sieber was released in 2010. A second CD with piano works by Ravel , Scriabin and Schubert was released in January 2013, followed by another CD in 2015 with works by Brahms and Debussy and Beethoven.
