Alexander Scrymgeour, 12th Earl of Dundee
Alexander Henry Scrymgeour, 12th Earl of Dundee (born June 5, 1949 ) is a conservative British politician .
Life
Scrymgeour is the son of Henry Scrymgeour-Wedderburn, 11th Earl of Dundee and Patricia Montagu Douglas Scott. He attended Eton College and was the honorary page of Queen Elizabeth II from 1964 to 1965; then he studied at the University of St. Andrews .
When his father died in 1983, he inherited his title of nobility and has been in the House of Lords ever since . In 1999 he was elected as one of the hereditary peers who were allowed to keep their seat in the House of Lords despite the House of Lords Act 1999 . From 1986 to 1989 he was Lord-in-Waiting the Chief Whip of the Conservative Party in the House of Lords. From 1986 to 1988 he was the government spokesman for education, from 1986 to 1989 the spokesman for Scotland and of the spokesman for domestic affairs and also for energy from 1987 to 1989.
He has been married to his wife Siobhan Mary Llewellyny since 1979 and has four children.
