Alexander Sergejewitsch Wolkow ( Russian Александр Сергеевич Волков ; born March 28, 1978 in Kirov ) is a former Russian ski jumper .

Career

Alexander Volkov started in the Continental Cup (COC) in 1996 . Due to good performance, he was nominated for the first time on December 7, 1996 for a jumping in the ski jumping World Cup . in Kuusamo , however, he only landed in the back of both competitions. On January 18, 1997, he jumped for the first time in the World Cup jumping in Sapporo with 12th place in the points. However, it was the only point he won in his career. He finished the 1996/97 World Cup season in 65th place overall.

At the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano , Volkov jumped 27th on the normal and large hill. In the team competition, he reached 9th place with the team.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1999 in Ramsau am Dachstein , Wolkow reached 58th place on the normal hill and 56th place on the large hill.

After the world championship, Volkov started in the Continental Cup for three years before ending his active ski jumping career in 2002 rather unsuccessfully.
