Alexander Sitkovetsky
Alexander Sitkowetski ( Russian Александр Ситковетский , scientific transliteration Aleksandr Sitkovetskij ; * 1983 in Moscow ) is a Russian violinist . He is the nephew of Dmitri Sitkovetsky .
biography
He was trained by his uncle from the age of six and later studied in London at Yehudi Menuhin's school and in master classes with Maxim Vengerov .
Sitkowetski first appeared in 1991 and made several records. He has also performed in well-known concert halls, including the Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall . He also played at Menuhin's funeral. The Strad magazine called Alexander Sitkovetsky the "Star of the New Century".
Alexander Sitkowetzki has been playing in the Sitkovetsky Trio with the pianist Wu Qian and the cellist Leonard Elschenbroich since 2007.
