Ernst Landgrebe

Ernst Landgrebe (born September 15, 1878 in Hoof ; † March 13, 1955 ) was a German educator and politician ( DVP , LDP , FDP ).

Life and work

After attending primary school, Landgrebe completed a teacher training course and worked as a secondary school teacher in Frankfurt am Main from 1909 . In 1925 he became rector.

Political party

In the Weimar Republic he belonged to the German People's Party and was parliamentary leader of his party in the Römer and state chairman of the DVP in Hessen-Nassau .

After the Second World War , Landgrebe joined the Liberal Democratic Party in Hesse, from which the Hessian FDP state association emerged in 1948 .

MP

Landgrebe was elected to the Frankfurt City Council in 1919 , to which he was a member until 1933. In 1945 he was a member of the Frankfurt Citizens' Council. In 1946 he was a member of the state assembly of Greater Hesse that advised the constitution , belonged to the Hessian state parliament from 1946 to 1954 and was chairman of the FDP parliamentary group there from 1951 to 1954. He was chairman of the first investigative committee of the Hessian state parliament, which (at the request of the LDP) had the task of reviewing the management of the former president of the state food office, Fritz Dietz . In 1949 he was a member of the first Federal Assembly .
