Wolfgang Greilich (born April 13, 1954 in Gießen ) is a German lawyer , notary and politician . As a member of the FDP , he was a member of the Hessian state parliament from December 1990 to April 1991 and from 2008 to 2019 . There he was parliamentary group chairman from May 31, 2012 to January 18, 2014 and vice-president of the Hessian state parliament from January 18, 2014 to January 17, 2019.

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1973, Greilich completed a law degree, which he completed in 1979 with the first state examination and in 1982 with the second state examination. From 1980 to 1983 he worked at the chair for civil law, commercial and economic law, tax law and comparative law with Uwe Blaurock at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen. In 1982, Greilich a law firm , the 1988 law firm was expanded. A year later he was appointed notary. In 2005 he became the first Central Hesse specialist lawyer for building and architectural law . He is currently working as a lawyer and notary, senior partner at the law firm GHC Greilich Hirschmann & Coll. with currently eleven lawyers, including two notaries, one tax advisor and cooperation with another tax advisor and auditor.

Wolfgang Greilich has been a member of the FDP since 1970. He was active in the party in many party offices. From 1972 to 1982 he was active with the German Young Democrats , in 1973 district chairman and from 1974 deputy state chairman. From 1982 Greilich was a member of the Young Liberals (JuLis) until he left because of the age limit . From 1981 to 1997 he was a city councilor in Giessen. In 1993 he was elected to the state board of the FDP-Hessen, in 2003 as district chairman of the FDP in Central Hesse.

On December 18, 1990, he replaced Gisela Babel in the Hessian state parliament for a period of three and a half months and left in 1991 after the end of the electoral term. In the state elections in 2008 and 2009 , he again entered parliament. From 2008 he was deputy parliamentary group leader of the FDP in the Hessian state parliament and its domestic policy spokesman. On May 31, 2012, Greilich succeeded Florian Rentsch as parliamentary group leader of the FDP in the Hessian state parliament. Rentsch had previously been appointed Minister of Economics in the Bouffier I cabinet.

In the state elections in Hesse in 2013 he joined the constituency casting I to. Here he was defeated by his opponent Gerhard Merz (SPD), but was able to move back into the state parliament via the state list.

On January 18, 2014, he was elected vice-president at the constituent session of the state parliament.

Private

Wolfgang Greilich is married, Protestant and has three sons. In his spare time he is an avid supporter of the Gießen 46ers basketball team . He is a member of the German Life Saving Society ( DLRG) and of the Social Services Association. V.
