Heinrich Kohl (born October 6, 1912 in Gilserberg ; † July 22, 1984 ) was a German lawyer, officer, pilot, district administrator and politician ( FDP ).

Life

After graduating from high school in 1932, Kohl began studying law, political science and newspaper studies in Berlin , which he completed in 1936 with the first state examination in law.

On May 1, 1933, Kohl joined the NSDAP ( membership number 2.023.813). After completing pilot training in 1934/35, he became a pilot in the Wehrmacht's air force in 1936. Participated in World War II as a dive fighter pilot . After being shot down in 1942, the captain became a British prisoner of war, from which he was released in August 1947. Then he was a court trainee. In 1952 he passed the second state examination in law.

Kohl joined the FDP after the Second World War. From 1959 to 1961 he was deputy state chairman of the FDP Hessen and then co-chairman of the party together with Wolfgang Mischnick . From 1962 to 1967 he was the sole chairman of the Hessian Liberals. From 1959 to 1971 he was a member of the FDP federal executive committee.

Kohl was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1950 to 1970 , where he was deputy chairman from 1958 to 1963 and 1965/1966, and chairman of the FDP parliamentary group from 1963 to 1965. From 1966 to 1970 he was Vice President of the State Parliament. From 1974 to 1977 he was a council member of the city ​​of Frankenau . In 1959, 1964 and 1969 he was a member of the federal assemblies . From 1953 to 1970 he was district administrator of the Frankenberg district , from 1970 to 1976 State Secretary to the Hessian Interior Minister Hanns-Heinz Bielefeld (FDP).

From 1972 he was chairman of the German Association for Housing, Urban Development and Regional Planning , Landesgruppe Hessen. In 1980 he became the first chairman of the Hessen State Association of the German Multiple Sclerosis Society .

One of his daughters is the writer Christiane Kohl .
