Alexander Vieweg

Alexander Vieweg (born June 26, 1986 in Leipzig ) is a former German javelin thrower .

In 2003 he was eleventh at the youth world championships, and in 2005 he was junior runner-up at 75.85 m. In 2006 he had to cancel the season due to an injury. In 2007 he was U23 European champion with 79.56 m.

On July 13, 2008, he improved his personal record to 83.27 m at the Grand Prix Sports Festival in Athens. Two days later, Vieweg was nominated in the last nomination round as the second German javelin thrower next to Stephan Steding for the Olympic Games in Beijing , where he was eliminated in qualification.

Alexander Vieweg had a competition weight of 95 kg with a height of 1.92 m. He started with athletics at SV Leipzig Ost and later moved to LAZ Leipzig. When he was 15 years old, his family moved to Zweibrücken; there he joined the LAZ Zweibrücken . In 2006 he moved to SV Saar 05 Saarbrücken , where he was trained by Boris Henry .

After his career he became the sports director and second chairman of the LAZ Zweibrücken.
