Alexander Vohl

Alexander Vohl (* 1961 in Stuttgart ) is a German architect and state chairman of the BDA Association of German Architects Baden-Württemberg.

Life

After graduating from high school in Korntal, Alexander Vohl attended the Free Art School in Stuttgart from 1982 to 1983. From 1983 to 1986 he studied architecture at the Technical University of Darmstadt and from 1986 at the University of Stuttgart , where he obtained his diploma in 1989. In 1990 he was in the Behnisch & Partner officeemployed, from 1991 he worked in Tobias Wulf's office as a project manager. From 1994 to 2007 Alexander Vohl worked as a lecturer for design at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Stuttgart. From 1996 to 2011 he was a partner in the Wulf & Partner office in Stuttgart. From 2011 to 2018 he was managing partner together with Tobias Wulf and Kai Bierich - since 2015 also with Jan-Michael Kallfaß, Ingmar Menzer and Steffen Vogt - the Wulf Architekten GmbH office.
Since 2019 Alexander Vohl has been working on interdisciplinary projects in the fields of architecture, interior and product design in the Atelier Vohl (Stuttgart) he runs.

Alexander Vohl is a member of the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects and the BDA Association of German Architects . After serving on the board of the BDA regional association Baden-Württemberg since 2010, he was elected regional chairman of the BDA Baden-Württemberg in October 2014.

One focus of his work is the development of design measures which, within the framework of an overall architectural concept, lead to perception that promotes identification ( corporate design , corporate architecture ). An example of this is the adidas Factory Outlet project in Herzogenaurach (2003), which for him was about using architecture to "express core characteristics of the brand such as dynamism, modernity, youth and zeitgeist".

Jury activities

Alexander Vohl has been a regular judge for public and private construction projects since 2003.
