Alexander von Fielitz
Alexander von Fielitz (born December 28, 1860 in Leipzig , † July 29, 1930 in Bad Salzungen ) was a German composer .

Fielitz studied in Dresden with Julius Schulhoff and Edmund Kretschmer . He was theater conductor in Zurich , Lübeck and Leipzig and then taught for several years at the Stern Conservatory in Berlin . In 1905 he became a teacher at the Conservatory and in 1906 conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra . From 1908 he taught again at the Stern Conservatory, which he directed from 1915.
Compositions
Fielitz composed two operas ( Vendetta , 1891 and Das stille Dorf , 1900) and numerous songs , of which the Tuscan songs in particular became famous. His romance for piano and violin is also popular.
