Alexander von Hoffmann

Alexander von Hoffmann (born June 7, 1974 in Hamburg ) is a German university professor . He has been Professor of Construction at the Georg-Simon-Ohm University in Nuremberg since 2006 .

Life

Von Hoffmann studied electrical engineering at the TU Darmstadt from 1993 to 1998 . In 1998 he started his doctoral thesis on the subject of "Lighting requirements for adaptive vehicle headlights for dry and wet road surfaces" in the light development department at Volkswagen AG , which he completed in 2003 with the Rigorosum at the TU Ilmenaufinished successfully. From 2004 to 2006 he was head of the “Technology, Simulation and Strak” sub-department in lighting development at Volkswagen AG and in 2006 accepted a call to the Georg-Simon-Ohm University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg. Since 2007 he has headed the CAD laboratory of the efi faculty. Since 2009 he has been running the Steinbeis Transfer Center "Applied Lighting Technology" in Altdorf near Nuremberg in a sideline job.

Act

Von Hoffmann teaches and researches in the fields of construction and applied lighting technology. He regularly organizes conferences on topics relating to vehicle lighting and applications of light simulation.
