The Alexander stone from the 13th century has the shape of a disc cross made of sandstone with a height of 114 cm and a maximum width of 62 cm with a thickness of about 22 cm. The stone is heavily weathered, especially in the upper area, so that the disc of the disc cross has an oval shape. On the front and back, an equal-armed cross is carved out by deepening the underground. Under the cross on the front of the disc, two smaller crosses are engraved next to each other in the wedge-shaped shaft. Only three cross stones in the shape of a disc cross are known in the region.

Theft and recovery

The Alexanderstein stood on the right at the edge of the state road 461 from Eldagsen to Alferde . The local field name Gallfeld is said to be derived from the location of the former gallows of the city of Eldagsen. In the early summer of 1981, the disc cross was broken off from its base and stolen.
