Alexandra Abornewa

Alexandra Vyacheslavovna Abornewa ( Cyrillic Александра Вячеславовна Аборнева; born October 30, 1986 in Shymkent ) is a Kazakh weightlifter .

She won the silver medal in the super heavyweight division at the 2005 Asian Championships . In 2006 she was fourth at the Asian Games and fifth at the World Championships . In 2007 she was fourth at the Asian Championships and fifth at the World Championships . She won bronze at the 2008 Asian Championships and fifth at the 2009 Asian Championships .

In 2010 Abornewa came fourth at the Asian Games and fifth at the World Championships . She won bronze at the 2011 Asian Championships and silver at the 2011 Universiade . At the world championships in the same year she was fifth again. In 2012 she won the silver medal at the Asian Championships . At the Asian Championships 2013 Abornewa was first. However, she was tested positive for dehydrochloromethyltestosterone during the doping control and was banned for two years. After her suspension, she finished eighth at the 2015 World Championships .
