Alexandra Dill

Alexandra Dill (born April 29, 1982 ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ). She is the Grand Councilor of the Canton of Basel-Stadt .

Life

Alexandra Dill grew up in Seltisberg . She went to school in Seltisberg and Liestal . At the Gymnasium Liestal she made the 2001 Matura . She studied media studies , sociology and philosophy at the University of Basel and Heidelberg . She then worked as a freelance journalist and worked for the Swiss Sports Museum , which she later directed until 2016. From May 2016 she was a board member of the museum. Dill has been the owner of the Dill + Dill Kontor cultural office since 2013. In the same year she was co-founder of Markthallen AG Basel, which organizes street food and other markets and events in the Markthalle Basel . Since 2013 Dill has also been co-managing director of Markthallen AG.

In 2016 she joined the party after a request from the SP Basel-Stadt and ran for the Grand Council elections in 2016. She immediately got the first replacement in the constituency of Grossbasel West. Since Daniel Goepfert declined to accept re-election before the start of the new legislative period, she was able to move up on February 8, 2017. In the Grand Council she became a member of the Building and Spatial Planning Commission (BRK) and the Disciplinary Commission (DisKo). Since December 2019 she has also been a member of the special commission on climate protection (SpezKo-Klima) and since February 2020 of the pardon commission (BegnKo).

Alexandra Dill is married to Gregor Dill and has three children and three stepchildren with him.
